Ronald Reagan

Grant.
I have lots of memories, being a child of the 80's, of President Reagan. When it was announced that his health had "changed" on Friday, I started remembering back to some of them. The biggest was playing for the President's visit in Stony Ridge. We, the Woodmore band, got to play along the tracks and see President Reagan on his whistle-stop train tour in 1984. It was cool then and it's cool now!
The other image that stood clearest in my mind was an image of President Reagan holding up a Bowling Green State University football jersey during a speech/talk at BGSU. I even remembered it was #84 (at the time worn by a receiver named Mark Dowdell). Yesterday, in the Toledo Blade, they reprinted that photo. It completely made my day!

Did you watch any of the ceremony last night? I did tear up watching Nancy slide her hand up and down the casket and then pat it lightly. Do you think she will soon follow her husband?

Yeah, I kind of think Nancy won't be long for this world now that "Ronnie" is gone. I read their love letters book a couple of years ago. Talk about heartbreaking seeing her rest her head on the casket in California and stroking the flag yesterday. Sheesh... I was welling up as well!
