What a game!!

The Pistons/Pacers series looks like it's going to be a good one. Last night the Pistons won on pure defense. They were simply awesome. People used to give the NBA the rap that no one played defense, well 19 blocked shots by the Pistons says otherwise. One helluva game!

I ordered a grill! I got the Weber Genesis Gold C, Oh YEAH!! Don't tell anyone, but I got it from Amazon for $400 instead of the prices they list up there. Not sure why, but the day I ordered it, it was listed lower, they had a $25 rebate, free shipping and I had a $50 gift certificate from Volkswagen. I couldn't pass up that offer! It'll be here after Memorial day, but I've been waiting SO long for a gas grill, another few days won't hurt.

KG

Has there been a better player since Michael Jordan than Kevin Garnett?? I got to see him play in person this season and was blown away! He's got the work ethic and the intensity that makes great players remarkable. I mean, come on... A playoff game 7 tonight, it's the 4th quarter, he's got 31 points and 19 rebounds and there's still 2:30 to go! He's 6'11" and he ran the point for a good portion of the second half. The guy is maybe the most versatile player in the history of the NBA.

Today is his 28th birthday. I think that's a pretty fitting birthday performance!

Am I????

JERRY: oh, you're crazy...

KRAMER: Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?

JERRY: It's impossible!

KRAMER: Is it? Or is it so possible your head is spinning like a top?

JERRY: It can't be.

KRAMER: Can't it? Or is your entire world just crashing down all around you?

JERRY: Alright, that's enough...

KRAMER: YEAAAAAH!

Testing 3.0

Just upgraded to MT 3.0 and wanted to test things out.

My truck was hit by a schoolbus yesterday AM. That's all.

Fun at the zoo

I just really liked this pic of Maryellen and I at the Harry Connick, Jr. concert last night:
Grant and Maryellen

And then here's Leslie and Tom who went with us:

HCJ

We had a terrific night last night! We all met at Maumee Bay Brewing Company downtown Toledo and had some great food! Maryellen was coming off of working 2 straight 12 hour nights, but she was awake and in a good mood! Leslie brought her new bf, Tom, who was really nice. We had a couple beers while there and then headed over to the zoo.

The amphitheater was packed. A New Orleans guitar player opened up by playing a few songs and then Harry and his band came out. The man is just an incredible entertainer. His voice was incredible, his rapport with the crowd was genuine and hillarious. He told some stories about how they got there early and toured the zoo first. He got hugs from an elephant, kisses from the same and an orangutan painted him a picture (Which he had retreived from the bus and passed around the audience). He even changed a few lyrics to mention Louie, the zoo's baby elephant.

The people watching was top-notch, the company was great. The band was HOT and Harry was cool...it was just a great night of music and friends!! If you have the opportunity to see Harry Connick, Jr this tour, do it...you won't be disappointed.

Here they come...time to eat!

Thanks to Moss for pointing this out to me. Apparently we're about to have one of the biggest "outbreaks" of cicadia's in years. What's really interesting is that we can eat them!!

Tangible Lust

I was talking to a friend the other evening and we decided that would be an awesome name for a band. "Tangible Lust."

How's come so many guys are idiots? I really feel bad for the women of the world. There are so few of us good guys out there. ;-) Really though, it seems like 9 times out of 10, if something is screwed up in a relationship, it's because of the guy.

LASIK, schmasik

Oh yeah, and we decided against the LASIK surgery tonight before M went to work. Our contacts and glasses work just fine...why spend a couple grand on what is really just cosmetic surgery AND run the risk of screwing something up?? Yay...back to wearing my contacts tomorrow!!

"Blood Fat"

Well, a year of exercising has done me absolutely NO good when it comes to my cholesterol. My total cholesterol is 250, my triglycerides are 401 and my hdl count (the good cholesterol) is only 36. What the heck?!??!?!

I've mentioned my cousin Lindsay on here before. Here's a link to some info and a great picture of her beautiful smile. :-)

http://www.multisportmadness.com/Coaching/Linsdey/ Unfortunately they misspelled her name in the URL.

I'm going to go eat some more lard now.

May may may...

Let's see...I'm getting bad about blogging. I've got a couple of really good pictures I want to put up here, but it'll have to wait. Maryellen and I are in our week of wearing glasses prior to LASIK. It'll be nice to get up in the AM and be able to see. My eyes are pretty bad, in fact, so bad that they might have to use the "Other laser" to do my eyes. Yeah...the OTHER laser.

We had a good lazy weekend.

Tonight is the first official meeting of the Duke and Duke investment club. Good group of guys and it's a very good learning experience.

In the past 10 days, I've been approached by 3 job opportunities. THREE! Sheesh! One of them I've flat-out said no thanks, but the other two are at least intriguing. I like Glasstech, but after a year, I'm doing a LOT. I'm thinking my pay isn't quite on par with my duties. So, it's always prudent to keep the options open.

I'm off to get my blood drawn this AM. Cholesterol check. I've been 264 and 242 the past two times for my total cholesterol count. Not very good. We'll see if a year's worth of exercising did anything to that number.
