Well, that's just sad...

Mr. Rogers, Fred Rogers, died this AM of stomach cancer at age 74. I don't know about the rest of you but I LOVED that show and watched it every single day when I was growing up. Mr. McFeeley would always bring those cool movies of factories and stuff so you could see how things were made. I just loved that. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood also gave me my first introduction to jazz music.

Fred Rogers will be missed.

*update 7:00 PM*

Visit Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood's home page for more information on a man who was the best neighbor any of us have ever had.

Funny...

Just came back from lunch, and there's a Jeep Grand Cherokee in front of me. The guy driving turns around and starts making a face at me and waving...Turns out it's Jeff Greene!! WOO HOO!! So I followed him back to Ryder where he's working which is in the next building over and chit chatted. Kind of cool that we work so close! Lunches are inevitable, although he just found out he'll be out of town on our group birthday 3/6. :-(

New name...same great flavor

I've changed the name of my blog from "Nuthin much..." to "Nasal Passage" I think the reasons are obvious, don't you?

I took several pictures of my nose last night and will be integrating them into the site soon. Isn't that fun!? Wow...Grant sure knows how to keep us interested!

The new job is great so far! The people I'm working with are great and it seems like a good fit. Plus, I don't have to wear a tie!!

If anyone in the NW Ohio area likes Hungarian food, you've GOT to check out Zsuzska's in Genoa. They have a website, unfortunately, it needs some work, but it WILL show you the menu and will give you directions to get you there. VERY yummy and you get SO MUCH FOOD!! Seriously, my last entree lasted me 3 meals, and for those of you who know me, that is saying a great deal about the portion!

Yesterday was Moss' birthday. Happy 33 Moss! I'll be 33 on 3/6. The birthday of choice for all the cool people like Eddo, and Jeff G! Oh...and Shaquille O'Neal...but who cares about him??

Bourne Identity

Watched the Bourne Identity last night. I haven't seen a good action/suspense movie in a while. Gotta say I really enjoyed it!

I hate to admit it, but I really like Matt Damon, from Good Will Hunting to Dogma to Rounders to Chasing Amy, he's been in a LOT of good flicks, plays a good variety of roles and is convincing in all of them!

The female lead in Bourne was new to me, Franke Potente. She did a great job and was pretty cute too. ;-)

Whew... what a week!!

Well, last night was the visitation and today was the funeral for Maryellen's dad. The visitation last night was pretty nice. Got to see a lot of people we don't see very often from Maryellen's family. Lots of her cousins and aunts and uncles. Got to see Sheryl for the first time in over a year (she's the brown haired, non-Maryellen girl in these pictures) which was really nice.

It was wonderful to see all the people who John touch and affected during his lifetime. Teachers, classmates, friends, card-playing buddies and all kinds of people showed up with stories. All of them said the same things...he was such a wonderful man. He was dealt some seemingly unfair cards in life, losing his wife at a young age, living with mental illness and being disabled, and cancer among other things...and he never complained or said why me. He was very optimistic even in the worst of situations and he would always "make lemonade out of lemons". Just a great guy and a wonderful model for people to emulate.

The funeral today was rough...and then we hung out with Karen and John (Maryellen's sister and her hubby) and we talked about some of the estate things. It's been nice spending some good time with them...unfortunately it's been under bad circumstances, but it's been nice seeing Maryellen and Karen grow even closer though this ordeal. And they have four kids that I actually LIKE! Can you believe it?!??!?!

Needless to say we're exhausted. Maryellen especially more-so than me, I'm sure, but I'm feeling quite whipped too. Lots of driving, standing, crying, and not much sleeping.

Tomorrow is my last day at Savvy. Unfortunately, it seems pretty anticlimactic now.

Did I mention we're pooped?

John Lee

Maryellen's dad, John Lee, passed away last night...this morning really...at about 1:20 AM. We'll be heading to Wauseon today to meet with the funeral folks and get everything set up.

Thanks to everyone who has sent support through this whole ordeal.

Lots of news...

Well, let's see...

We were told that Maryellen's dad has 2 - 3 weeks left "Give or take a week." That's obviously not good. In fact, I just talked to Mellen and she is on her way to Wauseon right now b/c the nursing home said he's taken a turn. Part of me wants this all to be done and over with. He's not experiencing any quality of life that's really worth living I don't think... But part of me doesn't want to see him go either, ya know?

The other big news...I've got a new job! I start on the 19th at Glasstech, Inc. The job kind of came about out of the blue from an interview a while back. They weren't able to hire me then because of budgetary constraints, but things changed recently and they're able to bring me aboard.

I'll miss the people at Savvy and many of the clients too, but the 45 minute commute and the fact that the Glasstech job will be about a 20% raise were the determining factors. Perrysburg is much easier to get to than West Toledo from Elmore.

Oh, there's tons more to talk about...but I don't have the time right now. I'll try to post more soon.
