I LOVE hot peppers!
Visit my mystery habanero page and help me figure out what I have...
I have been growing and eating hot chiles for about 5 years now. My passion for the heat started after eating a dish of Indian food I guess. I loved the spice and wanted more! My first exposure to growing the peppers came from a friend I work with, David Halsey. He and his dad had a garden here at work and decided to grow habanero peppers (which I had never heard of). I took a bite and was in AGONY, but for some odd reason...I took another bite! Such is the addiction of the chile-head!
I have since grown dozens of different varieties of peppers in my own gardens and am looking forward to this year's gardens as I have ordered over 25 different varieties! I am also going to try to establish an international pepper garden this year. I have several people sending me seeds from around the world. I'm especially excited about the Chombo (Capsicum chinense) seeds I'm supposed to be receiving from Panama, which is where I was born! If you have any interesting seeds you'd be willing to send me, just drop me a line!!
I'm also a big fan of hot sauces and cooking with peppers. My favorite sauces I've found so far (in no particular order) are:
Tabasco Jalapeno -- perfect on pizza
Tabasco Habanero -- ditto
Inner Beauty Real Hot Sauce -- if you can find it, try it!!!
Cholula
Rooster sauce -- an oriental sauce...used like ketchup
The Orange stuff I made this year
Many I can't remember off hand...
Here are some other good pepper links to follow.
There will be more!
